Post 3: Skills

Skills Table:

We were put into small groups & were told to speak about all the skills we have learnt in the making of our AS media opening scene, these were then all written down on a poster & we also had to put our skills into four different topics.

* Digital Technology,

* Research and Planning,

* Post Production,

* Media text Conventions

For each topic, we had to include an identification to a skill we needed when producing our AS project 'Thug Britain'.

These three were the following:

. Cognitive skills

. Technical skills

. Interpersonal skills

After this we had to film our poster and have voice overs reading out the table.

I think I have gained skills and I have learned new skills that make it easier to operate equipment and interact with pupils.

"SMART" Targets:

1. The first target that I would like to achieve is to successfully complete my blogger to a high standard as I did not feel that I completed my AS coursework to the standard that I wanted to achieve. I think that this may have been because I did not understand the task thoroughly & because I did not know how to produce certain pieces of detailed work..

2. Another target that I would like to achieve is that when we was filming our opening sequence, I got distracted a few times, & this caused us to have a number of outtakes so I would like to stay focused at all times with our next filming project.

3. My third target that I am hoping to achieve is to be able to understand more on how to use the editing suite, when filming our opening sequence, one member of my group done most of the editing because they understood how to, whilst myself and the other person in my group took a back-seat role due to the fact that we did not understand how to use the editing suite.

4. I would like to be more organised throughout media as I felt that in previous lessons I was not organised enough in a sense of forgetting certain pieces of work & forgetting deadlines, this effects me in a way that it makes me incompetent  & unprofessional.

5. For my final target, I feel that in previous lessons, my standard of work was basic.   I did not explain thoroughly in certain pieces of work and I used minimal detail so in future lessons, I would like to be able to understand my work & I want to be able to produce detailed pieces of work that is of a high standard.
