Post 10: Job Roles Research

We as a group first had to decide on what job roles each of us individually were going to take on throughout the production task.

Below is the list of Job Roles:

  • Director
  • Camera
  • Production Designer
  • Lighting & Sound

Obviously the person whose script was chosen to be used for the production work automatically had the job of the director. As we only had three people in our group opposed to the other groups who all had four, we had to split the fourth job role between us. We did the fourth job as well as our own designated roles.

I agreed with my group to take on the job of cameraman as I felt that it was a very fulfilling role  more so than the  jobs assigned  to the other members of the group. Below are the responsibilities & skills that the camera should complete & acknowledge. Again, as we only had three people in our group we had to split the fourth job role between us so I also agreed to do the Location & Technical Recee tasks, & I also created our production logo.

Below are the Responsibilities for Camera:

  • Location Recee
  • Technical Rcee
  • Storyboards
  • Logo
  • Camera Test

Below are the Skills that the Cameraman should acknowledge:

  • Creative Skills
  • Patience & a Steady Hand
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Personal Skills
  • Able to Work & Stay Focused Under Pressure
  • To Be Committed
  • Understand What is Required for the Cameraman

Post 9: Individual Script Feedback

With gathered information when we researched into different scripts. The next stage was to produce your own. I found that my first draft was not good enough to submit  at the time, the main reason being because it was due to the fact that I didn’t have a message for it. Other reasons on why it was not good enough was mentioned through feedback that I received from other members in my class, & also from my teacher. Another negative point that I received in the feedback, was that it was far too short to use & I was advised to re-write it and improve my grammar & length of the script.

Feedback

When I received my feedback, the main problem with my script was that I did not have a message to my story  This was a major problem because every short script must have a message to it. My other problem wsa that I did not give names to three of my characters, I just named them 'Character 1', 'Character 2' & 'Character 3'. This would  no doubt have been confusing for the reader.

The feedback that I had received from Becky Knapp became aware to me that there wasn’t enough of a story to my script also; my script was found to be quite short and straight forward so I decided that I would try to extend it by adding in an extra few scenes.
